ARCHEBIOS | WOOD MEET PEOPLE

ARCHEBIOS – Architecture Networking
19 October 2013
GAZZADA SCHIANNO (VA)
VILLA CAGNOLA CONFERENCE CENTRE

An exclusive event with the aim of forging new professional relationships. A networking opportunity that promotes the exchange of knowledge and experiences, develops new relationships and opens the door to new business opportunities. Archebios is a union of architecture and life, or more specifically, of quality architecture and quality of life. Its objective is to create an exclusive platform which brings together businesses renowned for the high quality of their work and respected architecture studios in order to sponsor the best residential building solutions currently on offer in Italy. This year’s event is orientated specifically towards companies and studios in the north of Lombardy, given that it is in those urban areas – and not the cities – that the future of the way we live will be defined. Particular focus will be given to sectors of the market that – despite the economic crisis – are currently in a healthy state and can provide a fillip to the construction industry. Further emphasis will be placed on quality of life and bioarchitecture which, as explained in the “World Green Building Trends” dossier by McGraw-Hill Construction, are two topics which despite everything continue to gather importance both nationally and internationally. This is confirmed by Cresme and Legambiente, promoters of the National Observatory on Building Regulations (ONRE), which provides a clear picture of the changes occurring. In fact, 1003 municipalities (out of a total of 8000) have altered their own building regulations to include new environmental objectives. These are designed to increase energy efficiency, with the aim of improving the quality of new buildings in anticipation of new regulations. After the reception, the day will get underway with a presentation of the event and the declaration of objectives, before the ANAB association takes the floor. The association has been active since 1989 in the areas of bioarchitecture and quality of life. Over the second part of the morning and into the early afternoon, one-to-one business meetings will take place, each one lasting for ten minutes. Representatives of companies in attendance will thus have an exclusive opportunity to meet architecture studios, in which the architects and developers will be able to present some of their projects. Meanwhile, companies will be able to introduce themselves not only as vendors of a specific product, but as partners engaging in dialogue designed to promote integrated solutions for bioarchitecture and design. The business meetings will take place in a relaxed setting, and the architects will have free time between each meeting, during which they’ll have the chance to visit the exhibition space set up for training and information purposes. Anyone who wishes to will be able to go into further detail on any of the topics covered, or simply talk them over in the bar or splendid gardens. Participants will also have the chance to visit the Villa Cagnola period residence and its private art collection. As you can see, the event will be one of dialogue, training and development. It will be interactive and informed, with all the typical characteristics of an architectural forum. The objective is not just to forge business contacts, but also to develop a broad cultural network. Inside the hotel, an exhibition – once again supplied and managed by the ANAB – will detail the various topics linked to bioarchitecture. The day will conclude with a final session of talks on the issues examined by the exhibition.
